Hyssop essential oil has a sweet warm odour. It ranges from colourless to a pale yellowish green colour.
Hyssop originated in the Mediterranean area. The oil is extracted from the leaves and the flowering tops of Hyssop using steam distillation.

Hyssop oil is non-irritant and non-sensitizing, but does contain pinocamphone and should therefore be used in moderation.
It should be avoided during pregnancy.
It should also be avoided by people suffering from epilepsy.
